August 2010:
    The West Glacier Rendezvous will be held on Aug. 19 through August 21, at the West Glacier KOA.  For further information Contact Terry or Janice Porter 406-273-4219 or tandjporter@aol.com. Plans are coming together nicely for this years carving rendezvous at West Glacier.  As usual, the carving will begin on Thursday morning (August 19) at 9:00.  Drawing for class signups starts at 8:30, so don’t be late.  Last year the Saturday morning project (running bear) we all worked on seemed to generate a lot of interest so we will do another joint project this year. 

We have some new instructors this year and welcome back many of those who have taught in the past.  For those of you who have rotary carvers (foredom, dremel, etc.) and if you feel so inclined to pack them along, we have a volunteer to teach a butterfly class.  Logistics are always tricky when dealing with power since outlets, at the tent site, are very limited.  If this class happens it may have to be held at a campsite.

Friday night we will have the traditional pot luck supper, and Saturday night will be the hosted barbeque.  You are on your own for breakfasts and lunches. 

We’ve been contacted by Greg at the KOA telling us about all the improvements they’ve made this year.  Many of the internal roads have been paved and they’ve added some new cabins with indoor plumbing, and fully furnished.  So if you haven’t made reservations yet better get on the phone or computer and get  ‘er done.
